Homes for less than £100,000 really do still exist in Britain.
The average home in the UK may now costs well in excess of £200,000, but there are still plenty of places that you can buy property for less than £100,000. The housing market varies massively by location, it helps to do your research to know what you’re looking for.

Bishop Auckland
The North East is pitched as being one of the UK’s cheapest areas to buy property. So it is no surprise to find a plethora of homes available to buy across the regions for well under £100,000, including homes in Bishop Auckland.
This historic market town stands high above a meander in the River Wear, commanding spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. It is a lively place with good shopping locations and busy markets, the town also includes a vast selection of cafes, pubs and leisure facilities.
Some of the local landmarks include Auckland Castle and Binchester Roman Fort, once the largest Roman fort in County Durham.

You do not have to go to Liverpool for brilliant things to see and do – you can find great food, beautiful locations, exhilarating experiences, amazing culture and some stunning properties in the nearby Wirral.
While places like Prenton and Oxton and Bebington are among the most desirable places to live in the Wirral, not to mention the wider North West of England, property prices in these areas are generally out of our £100,000 price range, at an average of £167,962, £181,838 and £166,417, respectively.
Properties in Birkenhead, on the other hand, are significantly cheaper. Although the average price a property in the town now costs £102,749, there are still plenty of homes available to but for less than £100,000.

North London
London is now the world’s most expensive city in which to live and work, according to a recent study by estate agents Savills, while the latest house price data shows that the average price of a home in the capital now exceeds £600,000, and so is it still possible to buy a property in London for less than £100,000?
We searched property listings across the capital and found that they STILL exist! OK, so there are only a handful of properties being advertised for less than £100,000, varying from a studio flat in West Hendon to a two bedroom house in Kingsbury, but they are available.
On the market: We have opted for a one bedroom flat in Edmonton which will be sold at auction. The first floor flat, forming part of a detached block called Pycroft Way, which is a residential cul-de-sac running off the east side of Victoria Road, features an open-plan kitchen/reception and offers access to communal gardens and comes with an allocated car parking space.
